The story behind the game
The Phantom of the Opera got its start as a book. Surprisingly, it wasn’t all that successful originally. Since then it’s been re-made in a number of forms, including the 1986 Andrew Lloyd Weber musical. That show is now the longest running Broadway show in history. It’s also the most lucrative enterprise in entertainment history. Its worldwide box office revenues are higher even than the biggest movie in history, 1997’s Titanic. And the story has made even more money through means of some occasionally surprising merchandising deals, like the Phantom of the Opera action figure for example.
Given its long record of profitability, it seems only right that the story is finally giving something back. To you, specifically. So enjoy this spooky journey of tragic love and creepy masks.
